What I Do
Born and raised in Yorkshire I graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2010 with a 1st Class BA Hons Degree in Fashion Design with Manufacture, Marketing & Promotions. Whilst completing my degree I interned for renowned UK designers Paul Smith & Alice Temperley, gaining valuable experience in PR and Studio work. Upon graduation in 2011 I set up my own independent label, L.2.Mae, with critically acclaimed features in the media and on the red carpet, being named one of the top 10 upcoming UK designers to watch by ASOS Marketplace & The Clothes Show Live in 2013. I stepped away from this to gain more experience and insight into other areas of fashion and business, working as a freelance designer & pattern cutter and most recently as a designer in the technical textiles safety market. I’m now heading back to my first love and passion – womenswear fashion design.
My background is in Womenswear Design and Pattern Cutting. I love the entire creative process, from initial sketch, to drafting the workings to forming the final 3D outcome. In recent years I have designed for the Men’s safety market, focusing heavily on technical specifications and Clothing production with my Garment Technologist experience.
